Availability of later model commercial trucks is limited by the lack of new truck sales since 2008. Translation, higher prices on used work trucks

Possible solutions, depending on your businesses financial position and abilities are:

Late model low mileage replacement? Do the math on buying new, used  prices are at a premium that may make this a smarter alternative for you than buying the late model used. Besides, remember the warranty aspect and this may be your best option

Replace with an older unit. This is getting harder to do as our economy continues to bump along and time & use extend the age of this used truck alternative. If this is the alternative that makes the best sense for you consider making a full mechanical assessment of the reconditioning the truck you are considering will need. This is your true investment in a work truck not just what you initially buy it for. Figure out what downtime is worth to you if you just put it to work and it goes down.

Recondition & maintain current vehicles.  Invest in your current vehicles and wait for more favorable conditions for replacement.

Having a plan. What your business is capable of?  Waiting until you are forced to do things to keep your business operating generally costs more and can result in bad decisions. Neglecting maintenance when your business can not afford replacement is a poor gamble. Investing more money in a vehicle that it is not going to continue working without a lot more money being spent is not a good bet.
